Step 1: Make a bucket using the crafting table. When Minecraft Pocket Edition first came out, buckets were impossible to make, but if you have the latest update for the game, you won't have a problem producing buckets. You can craft a bucket at the table using three iron ingots or find a bucket in a dungeon chest.
Step 2: Use the bucket to pick up a source block of water. A source block is a stationary block, so using the bucket near a waterfall usually will not work. Buckets can also be used to pick up and transport lava or milk from cows.
Step 3: Transport water and store it wherever you need to. It's a good idea to have a lot of water around in case you encounter a fire that you need to put out. Using buckets to carry lava can create useful weapons that you can keep near you, but water itself can't be used as a weapon.
Step 4: Create infinite water by forming at least two water source blocks into an "I" shape.
Step 5: Remember that water is determined by seed. Seeds are entered into a new game to determine what kind of terrain and environment you will spawn into. If you need water, you won't want to use a seed that places you in the desert.
